T he Path to Owning Your Home

1. Chose an agent you trust and feel confident that you can work with on this key decision in your life.  An agent is your advocate
in the process, bringing context and their experience to help you find a home and negotiate in your interests.  They also make the
process less stressful by explaining each part of the process, and managing the details to a successful closing.

All at no cost to you as the buyer.

2. Get Financing before you go viewing homes.  That way you will know the price range you can comfortably afford, and you will avoid disappointments that are avoidable by being Pre-Approved by your mortgage lender.

3. View homes.. This is the fun part.  Be prepared to keep notes about the amenities especially if viewing many homes.  Also, wear shoes that are easy to slip on and off to make it easier at each home.   I will set up all the appointments and plan the tour, as well as
provide a printed copy of the homes we are viewing for your notes.

4. Write the offer.  The terms will include the offer price, amount as earnest money, total down payment, closing date, personal property items,  mortgage financing and the home inspection.

5. Get a home inspection to understand all you can about the home.

6. Get homeowners insurance as soon as possible and notify all the utilities of your move-in date

7. Plan a final walk-through before closing to be sure home is in the same condition as when you last saw it.

8. Close on your new home at a title company.  Expect about 1 hour at closing.

9. Move in and celebrate!  You have made one of the best moves you can make to secure your familys future.
Owning a home is still the cornerstone of building financial security.
